The buyer is not going to turn over cash unless he/she is crazy or stupid or both. If this is a several thousand dollar sale he/she is going to want protection too. You do not want a personal check or a cashiers check. Both can be returned unpaid long after the RV is gone. A draft is a good way of giving the buyer documents and receiving funds. You will need a good bank relationship for this to work well. A wire transfer is good but give it 48 hours to clear before turning over the RV and documents (The buyer may not like this). Make sure you have a sales agreement. If you do not know how to do one, have an attorney make one. This is a business transaction and needs to be treated like one. Getting an attorney is your best bet.
