I sold an RV on eBay to a guy in Florida. He has already contacted me & paid the $100 deposit via Paypal. He says he's going to get a transport company to pick it up but we haven't worked out the when...

Actually, you are supposed to sign an authorization as well, but it does pay to be cautious.
Wouldn't hurt to call your local branch and tell them you are expecting an INCOMING wire transfer. Mine has even called me when I was waiting for a time sensitive wire.
FWIW, when doing a 'long distance' transaction, I ask the other party how they want to handle it. I offer my suggestions to give us both comfort and it's been pretty painless each time.
