The OP asked for advice, my first post gave rock solid advice from on the road experience on how to insure success of having money in hand. It appears another approach was taken. I can see from that approach there could have been an issue, not saying there was.
I would appreciate follow up to gain closure. I'm expecting that the transaction went smoothly since it was E-bay based, but based on the actions taken I can see how it may not have. If that is the case, then it would be nice to know what happened so others don't repeat the error. and we all can be educated.
Now maybe the real cynic is those that feel that everyone is their best friend and no-one will try to fleece them. The last thing they would want is to hear different if they were part of the cheering team in the beginning of this post.
