I'm def. on the same page with you! Can't go camping and rough it when you get older without TV and something comfortable to sit in for extended periods. :)
When growing up, I spent every summer from the day school got out to the day it started again at my parents waterfront cabin. No power, no phone, no TV, no running water and an outhouse out back. About 3 years in total out of my life. In my 20s/30s I did a lot of backpacking up local mountains and a 7 day hike along a beach in the Queen Charlotte Islands, all with a 50-60 lb backpack. Done my fair share of true roughing it and it no longer has the appeal for some reason (sigh). :(
Nowadays, "camping" at a CG means their hasta be FHUs and TV. Last year we took out the jacknife torture sofa and installed a double power recliner sofa. Sweet! And with the kitchen & food being mere feet away, it's much better than being at home, lol...
