People should do whatever makes them happy. Nessmuk started the conversation about roughing it well over 100 years ago. People seem to forget that he also talked about "smoothing it" which is fun when you get older. My recent TT purchase included a tv but I took it out.
In a couple of weeks we are taking the boat to meet the cousins and will be bringing the wall tent, cots and other furniture. It will be very comfortable camping in a great place but not glamorous at all. Dutch ovens and a fire for cooking.
