The campgrounds I use most, even the RV sites don't have defined boundaries. Especially sites on the outside of a loop, they go on to lakeshore or into the woods, and even on the inside they might back onto a large common use area. My single favorite site, if I can manage to get it, is about 100 feet to the next site on one side, 60 feet on the other, and 200 to the waters edge, for something like 16,000 sq ft if I split those differences. But I'm not one of those campers that try to see "my site" as private property, so if someone wants to do something out there, OK with me.
I've been in RV parks, some state parks, where if you tried to define boundaries, some sites might be as small as 800 sq ft, but those would not qualify as "favorites" in any case. Nor would parks with defined boundaries for each site, though I have had to stay in a few, and usually the defined area is quite small.
