Allow me to simplify.
At this point you've only got small tweaks left to vastly improve your towing experience. So I'm sorry to say, you will not be successful improving your situation to a level you are fully comfortable with.
There a countless people in the same situation FYI, even some towing 3/4 tons. I know because people have PM'd me here and on other sites about their 1/2 and 3/4 ton unhappy towing with standard WDH's because I have posted a lot about the Hensley/Propride hitches.
The Anderson, IMO is the worst option for tongue weights that approach 800-1000lbs and even worse when used on large TT's.
My advice, with absolute certainty; Air up those Defender LT's to 65psi and buy a Hensley or Propride. You'll experience 5th wheel like towing for the high price paid, but its better than buying a bigger truck and 5th wheel TT for drastically more money.
Without any doubt...you will enjoy towing your GD TT with a Hensley or Propride and your 1/2 ton. If I do it with a 1/2 ton short wheelbase SUV, then you know your longer F-150 with LT tires and much higher payload can do it!
