- donn0128Explorer IIHad one similar from CW. It was horrible. Quit in less than a month. Total junk. Take it back get a Weber Q series. You won't regret it one bit
- naturistNomadSimilar is not the same.
I have exactly that grill. I got it 2 years ago, and have used it camping for two seasons, after modifying it to run off the low pressure line on my TT. It works fine. Been happy with it, works great. - Swampman597ExplorerI've had one for over a year and agree with donn0128 about the Weber Q. Mine also has one of the knobs that quit working but I find it easy to just turn the shaft using my fingers without the knob. Its a good unit but just too big and really bulky. I also got the griddle top for it too and its a nice addition but also somewhat awkward to handle. I'll keep using it until I find a Weber Q on sale sometime.
- IAMICHABODExplorer III had the same one from Sams and had to return it because of its terrible design. It would not keep a constant temp, the holes around exterior had to be plugged to keep a decent temp to cook on.
The burners did not keep the same temp with one hotter than the other.
The instructions show how to adjust the burners and after I spent an Hour dis-assembling it to get to the adjustment only to find that it had been tak welded in place.
I have to say that returning it to Sams was painless they just refunded my money and put it on a pallet with about 20 others that had been returned.
good luck with yours.....
I will stay with my Weber 200 Q - jmcnabExplorerGuys you are ruining his Christmas gift... it might be a great BBQ and work out just fine for John.
He can't return the xmas gift from his wife.... - dalenoelExplorer II88% of the people who bought that exact grill would recommend it to friends. Sounds like a pretty good gift in my book. Congrats and enjoy.
- LantleyNomadI had what appears to be the same unit. I purchased it from Sam's. I was not happy with it. Did not cook very well. It was a bit hard to clean as well. I sold it on Craig's list for $50.00
Do yourself a favor and return it now. Add the difference and get a Weber Q top choice top dollar or a Coleman Roadtrip 2nd choice.
I believe the Weber is a better grill overall. Well built, holds the heat well. but I like the Coleman because it comes with a stand attached and does not require a table. - rooney77Explorer

While I understand where you are coming from I disagree. I know that if my wife bought something for me that wasn't satisfactory (I have no actual opinion on the grill in question) she wouldn't bat an eyelash at me returning it for a superior product. The thought was made and after returning it, the end result will make both happy. Sometimes happy feel good emotions need to be put aside for facts and function, that's not always a comfortable trip. On that same note, I have purchased many things for my wife that I thought were perfect, only to learn I bought a do-fer. I had no qualms about her returning them and getting what she really wanted.
That being said, I have no experience with any of the grills mentioned. I do have experience with the internet and real world opinions being expressed. If all you want is a few pats on the back then your best bet is to not post on a public forum. I personally would most likely be happy with the present and would ignore the naysayers. But I'm also the kind of person to take something and modify it, or myself, to make it do what I want it to do if for no other reason than it makes my wife smile or makes me feel like MacGyver. Thin skin will only make you use more bandaids, it's not going to get you any further in life.
OP, that's a nice looking grill. I'd rock it and enjoy it. Learn how to use it despite it's perceived quirks. Some of the best steaks I've cooked and briskets I've smoked have been on the biggest pieces of junk, according to my friends. Learn to make lemonade when given lemons (not saying you got a lemon) and you will never be dissappointed. - Artum_SnowbirdExplorerWell said Rooney77! I have had cheap grills too, and some that worked OK but didn't fulfill our needs for size or heat. One thing I have learned though is never throw away the regulator. One we had worked perfectly with a five pound tank, but the burner failed and the grill was not good. Next one had a great platform, we loved the tiny size (Magma Grill mini) but the cheap regulator failed after a year and the supplier said "It says clearly do not use with bigger than one pound tanks." We put the older regulator on it from the last grill, and it continues onward. Lesson learned, but worth repeating.
Enjoy your new toy and produce great food for you and yours. Merry Christmas. - jfkmkExplorer

My thoughts exactly. Kind of mean.
