- 69_AvionExplorerI use a Camp Chef 3 burner 30,000 btu stove. I have used all three burners with everything from a large griddle to double Lodge Cast Iron dutch ovens. It works great.
- B_O__PlentyExplorer IIIf it isn't a Weber Q...it isn't a grill..
B.O. - VeebyesExplorer IIBottom line is, as with everything, you are pretty much going to get what you pay for. My Magma marine kettle style is 4 years old & has cooked well in excess of 400 meals. It has that well used lustre to it, only get thoroughly cleaned maybe once a month & nothing has failed yet. Parts are readily available for when the grate or heat plate finally give out.
All parts are SS. It gets left outdoors no matter the weather. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Guys you are ruining his Christmas gift... it might be a great BBQ and work out just fine for John.
He can't return the xmas gift from his wife....
My thoughts exactly. Kind of mean.
He did asked for comments, didn't he?
OP'er here. Yes I did ask for comments. And thanks to all that commented. Some of you commented exactly as I would have thought you would. I asked for this grill specifically on the recommendation of a friend who has one. We have camped with them and seen his in action. I have looked at the Weber series of grills. Honestly don't see where they are worth the extra money.
But, I got what I asked for and I am a Happy Camper!!!! Now anxiously awaiting for spring. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.
You say "Honestly don't see where they are worth the extra money. " Until you have owned one I guess you will never know. I got tired over the years of the grates and burners or the grill it's self rotting away. I went with my Sisters recommendation, stepped up and i'm sure glad I did. 9 years and still rock solid.
But hey I truly wish you the best of luck with whatever you end up with! - LantleyNomad

Thanks for the follow up.
I sort of thought just like you. This stainless steel model looks fine why spend more?
If you get a chance to try a Weber Q try it and compare to the stainless steel model. You will see there noticeable difference in how effectively they cook.
In the end they will both cook the food but a Weber Q will be easier on the cook and the food will turn out better.
Whatever you decide enjoy your grill and Merry Christmas to you as well. - hawkeye-08Explorer IIIWe've actually used ours more at home when just the two of us. We have a large gas bbq at home, but it is overkill now that the kids are on their own so the smaller one works great... until the family talked me into getting a pellet fired grill for home, now we use that...
I'm sure you will enjoy it! - shadows4Explorer III

We have a similar one bought from Costco. Has worked well for a couple of years.
As I posted early, I also have the Costco one. In looking at the OP's link again, the Costco one may be bigger and different. Mine has separate strikers built into the two controls. I like it very well and think it cooks fine. Chris - Tango__AE7UIExplorerWe purchased a very similar model from a local propane dealer about 3 years ago.
It is plumbed into the fifth wheels low pressure line with a propane quick disconnect.
Removed the pressure regulator.
Works great. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

I didn't read all 3 pages of this thread. I have a portable gas grill that says made by Singer on it. It also says "Made in the USA" I've used it for a few years but, it is getting a little rusty. I've looked at new ones and can never seem to find one that says "Made in the USA" on it and I don't want a cheap Chinese made thing.
If anyone ever finds a USA made quality one let me know.
Weber Baby Q
Had mine for 9 years works great and the cast Iron grate and burner are still in great condition.
