I worked in "Crash" at an OE for several years. There are some things I learned.
When threatening things happen fast, your central processor (brain) has to prioritize what it does. Things required for survival come first (like controlling the vehicle) and storage of data can be down the list a ways, so a complete log may not be available.
More specific memories may get filled in as time passes, but don't expect much. The editor will be working at stringing together the data for a long time and only as fill in work.
If you are standing there (I have been numerous times) and listening to the count-down for the deployment of an air-bag, you will still not see it. At 600FPS, they are pretty clear, but less than that...
