Not a problem...my recovery kit includes a pair of 50' tow straps. :D

I think a LD wrecker would have been fine. The key comment was that he did not have enough winch line to run it out and stay on stable ground on the LD truck.

So they send the MD out which usually has a 100 foot spool on it compared to the 50-75 most LD wreckers might carry. And nowdays I dont see a lot of trucks setup with an additional 25' strap with a 10k working load to fill that gap needed between a LD with a lack of reach and an MD with a bigger spool of cable.

Got stuck on this. The ground was not soft but was as slick as snot after ATVs & 4X4s had driven over it a few times.



Told the DW not to let me back the rear wheels even an inch into the muck. She did.

Got myself out by jacking up & getting the rear wheels on leveling boards we carry then not stopping once I got it moving on unchewed up grass.

Most of the time it does not take much hp to get out of a stuck situation, just a bit of traction.

The throttle cowboys who dig themselves in are the ones who really get into trouble.

This year has been heck thats for sure. The yards are so soft even in places where there are no issues even after good rain. I nearly got my truck stuck unloaded twice attempting to help pull a friends boat out of his yard. He has a 2wd and wasnt even going to attempt it.

The annual inspection can be a pain, but hey its the rules in VA and 1k ticket if you get caught without it (not me, but a friend found out the hard way.)

Really inspection on trailers are simple, they check that the coupler holds properly (for tag and goose neck), check the 5th wheel pin for excessive wear/cracking if its not one of the others. Then its just lights, suspension components, tires and electric brakes.

Have you seen these driveway pavers? They might be a good option for where you pull in and out with your trailer.

No. I simply kept a firm brake peddle and parking brake applied. Had the wife in the TV to steer the rig as I eased it back. After getting it into a position where I could pull the rig forward, I attached a tow strap to the front of the F-250, dropped the Jeep into 4 low and pulled it forward onto the road. I was very proud of the little Jeep.
