If you're a Sportsman, there's always something to do to improve the habitat. You could make and install some wood duck houses, pick up trash around a lake, river or stream, plant trees or seed plants. If you're not clear on how to improve habitat, join a Sportsman's club in your area. They will have a variety of things they do to improve those areas where we hunt.
The leather work is also a good idea. What you accomplish in a weekend could probably pay for your camping trips. If you do it outside and there are people around, you'll meet a lot of folks that are curious.
