The next 4 days are forecast to be brutal in terms of the heat. Phoenix could see as high as 120 on Saturday and Tucson is looking at 113. We live at 3400' about 25 miles north of Tucson so we won't get the worst of it, probably around 106 or so. The good news is that as the major high that is bringing the heat moves up over the four corners it should jumpstart our Monsoon pulling tropical moisture up from the south.I am going to go to the trailer and open the windows and vents just to let a little air flow through. Other than that there's not much else to do (except close them again before the rains come early next week). :S If i wasn't still in the rehab/recovery mode from my knee surgery we would simply head up to the White Mountains as it is delightful at 9,000'. if you are coming to Arizona anytime soon watch the temps but know that relief is just a few hours and several thousand feet up, up and away. :C

L.A. is getting hit...at lunch the outside temp was 89° and we are only 6 miles from the ocean.

I lived in Phoenix when it hit 122 degrees back in the '90's! They shut down Sky Harbor airport for a few hours as the pilots had no flap settings for temperatures that high and had to wait for the info to be relayed from Saudi Arabia before they could resume operations. I was out getting shocks put on my pickup truck that day! One of the local tv reporters "fried" an egg on the sidewalk although it was still pretty runny! But it was a dry heat!

Highest temp I've ever experienced is 110-that's about 40 degrees too hot for me. Lowest is -17 without wind chill. Love Arizona-to visit. Couldn't deal with it being that hot.

We spent our working years in the the low desert of so cal. 120 * + was not uncommon. That is why we live up here and avoid the desert at all costs:E I would never attempt to live in an RV in that kind of heat.....

My folks spent a winter in Tempe, AZ. one year. They loved it except for the day they found themselves east of Tempe in the toad, driving back to the CG about 4PM. The sun was just above the hood for the whole drive. My Dad cussed like a sailor all the way back. :)

We now winter in Gold Canyon. The roads are packed with fleeing snowbirds the first couple weeks of April. We're in that exodus. I can't imagine what miners went through in the Superstitions back in the day.

One daughter still lives in Phoenix, another gave up on it and moved to Ladera Ranch, Ca. She said it was supposed to go over 90 there today.

The OP mentioned the White Mountains. We attend an ATV event in Eager, at the foothills of them. The Weather Channel showed 93 there today! It even reached 90 today and yesterday here in central Colorado, and we live at 8900'.

But it's already cooled into the 60s at 8:30 this evening, and a fan in the bedroom window is going to feel great.

Desert Capt. you are correct the heat is coming up to the four corners, we just had a little bit rain to cool us off,welcome site we haven't seen moisture in 100 plus days. yours is coming. we are going to Silverton, Col. for the week of the Fourth, looking forward to the lows of 40 degrees at night, day still pretty warm at 85-90 during the days. Hang in there rehab will be over befor you know it

I have been there a few times to visit a childhood friend that now lives in Tucson. Many years ago I visited him and his wife and there infant daughter. It was about 110 to 115 during the day but at night it dropped down to about 85 to 90. We decided to go to a drive in movie (do they still exist?) at night and I was shocked when the bundled up the child in blankets so she wouldn't be cold. I was wearing shorts and "T" shirt but a lot of people were wearing sweaters and light jackets with temps near the 90s

Head up and east to Big lake. The CG is at 9200' and they should be low 80's. :C

It will get as high as 105* here and I'll still take that over the humidity of Michigan in the summer. Plus it only gets to the low 80's at 9-10,000 ft. :)

A couple years ago, we went to Death Valley for the 4th of July just to experiance it. 124 during the day made sitting outside the bar in the evening quite comfortable at 101.

Always wanted to see what it was like in Az in the summer. 2 years ago we were in Yuma in Sept. 113 degrees. Love it. As opposed to what we have here in Wi right now. 84 degrees and 74% humidity. I'll take Az any day over this. Can't even keep my glasses on for all the sweat. Thank God for air conditioning.
