The newer Superglides use WD40 to lubricate them. I just spray a bit on the rails and head before each trip. Its a good idea to completely clean it at least once a year. I have the Superglide mounting rails under the bed. That allows me to pull a few cotter pins and completely lift the hitch out of the bed. Nothing remains so bed is then fully usable.
The Superglide does require a capture plate to be installed on your trailers kingpin. I use one designed specifically for the king pin I have (there are only a small number of king pin manufactures that all trailers use). The capture plate is held on by a single bolt making it easy to remove if I need to tow with a non-Superglide hitch. Do not use the welded on plate!!
