I'm like most 90% on line, the 10% is when I have questions. - Online.
Of course, i'm kind of a late march early april camper which is prior to the season, then i just show up. - Army11BravoExplorer IIMostly online. Probably 10% over the phone if there are questions, like finding a spot in Yellowstone to fit our rig. My OCD means I plan out a trip in advance with lots of details, so just showing up and finding a campground is out of the question. But God bless those with that sense of adventure - but I can't do it!
- NaioExplorer IIPopular or destination public parks: online. On the road, mom-and-pop parks: phone.
On the road, I don't normally have data service, and I often don't know how far I will get in a day. So I call in the afternoon and ask about that night. Also, because my RV is unconventional, I want to give them a chance to say no, although that has only happened once.
The mom-and-pop parks also rarely have functional online reservtion systems. - CroweExplorerWas about 95% online. Only used phone if there was no online option.

That's pretty much the way we do it. We only plan ahead if we figure that getting a spot will be an issue. It rarely is because we travel mostly in the spring before school gets out, and in the fall after school starts.
On the road, we starting looking for a place to park, we call camps along our route and give them our eta. Haven't missed yet. Our planned base camps we call ahead a time and reserve them for the time we will be parking there.
We are planning a trip to North Carolina beach this fall so we will reserve a spot well ahead of time because of the popularity of vacationing in the area. We will call so we have a few questions, one of the things you have trouble doing online. We have reserved online a few times, but mostly it's better to talk to a live person so we know we can get a spot for our 40' toyhauler. - JAXFLExplorer30% on the phone and 65% on-line and 5% walk up.
If we full timed it would be 95% walk up and 5% phone. - Campfire_TimeExplorerOnline when we can, but many private CGs still do not do online reservations. Sometimes calling is a good thing because, as said above, you can ask questions. Many CG websites are very lacking in information.
