- Sandia_ManExplorer IIWhatever the reason that is way too much load for a Chevy Tahoe to handle. I rented a very similar tractor for some yard work and rental company asked where I wanted it delivered. I told them no need I have a 3/4 ton HD truck that I tow my 32' TT toyhauler with and that I should be good to go, attendant smirked and said it was good I only had to go a few miles. I kind of felt offended, but after it was hitched up I could not believe how tasking it was for my truck to haul this thing around. Our TT can weigh as much as 10K# when fully loaded for extended camping, it never tasked my truck as much as this relatively small tractor did. Took a lot of grunt to move this thing around, although it seemed to move our HD truck around more effectively at times.
- transamz9ExplorerHere's what happens when you drop a trailer off the shoulder of the road even if it is enough truck to handle the trailer. This is on my road and is roughly only 5 miles long. (this is not me in the news reports)
driver error
more error
Same exact place as first news video but different truck. - SoCalDesertRid1Explorer IIHe swerved to miss a dead tire in the road and lost control.
- coolbreeze01ExplorerDriver error.
- BenKExplorerGood example of a Mr Murphy moment and either have the right stuff spot on or not...
Betcha he said been doing that for years with no issue and advised many based on that...
Most do NOT understand that specifications are for that Mr Murphy moment...whetherit is enough to manhandle that situation...but...droppinga tire
Off pavement would be tough to one sized correctly... - transamz9ExplorerJust FYI, a Cat 279 c weighs 11,000# +-
- D_MAXExplorerWith or without a trailer if you drop tires off the road and try to get it back on the road...you are in the ditch. Ride it out until you slow down. Might be a rough ride but it beats the shiny side down...or half down in this case.

He was running 45 mph at the time , the right side trailer tires dropped off the pavement, resulting in the tow vehicle being moved over to the right, the driver attempted to get it back on the road , and ended up swerving into the oncoming lane, and it came around and ended up in the position you see, no weight distribution , no trailer brakes and to top it off the loader was about the center of the trailer and not chained down, it slid forward during the off road excursion , the trailer is 10,000 GVWR
