Also, while PA does allow doubles
Got a cite for this?
I thought PA does NOT allow non-commercial doubles, but makes exceptions for 5th wheels as "not a towed trailer" so you could add something behind it?
Obviously you don't spend much time on the Interstate roads..
Part of my daily commute is on a busy North/South Interstate for about 15 miles and a smaller East/West 4 lane route for about 5 miles.. Go by a big UPS hub and even a Fed Ex hub, see lots of doubles run by UPS and Fed Ex.
Personally, after observing truckers pulling doubles I want NO PART of doing it for personal use.. Those back trailers tend to SWING a good foot or two side to side while traveling down the road.. Got to be a ride from h... to say the least..
On one end of my commute stands a sign which states NO DOUBLES allowed on this road beyond a certain exit (road goes from four lane to a two lane)..
You can look it up, should be able to find several websites to PAs regs. That info plus lengths ARE published just do a search ..
HERE is a link to a fact sheet for PA's CDL which mentions Doubles and triples endorsement if that makes you happy.. The information is out there..
