We live in Florida but head north for the summer. We have a HUMIDISTAT. That is a small unit that goes next to the thermostat. It measures the humidity and when it gets too high(you preset it)it will turn on the AC.It cost less than $100 and saves money because the AC does not run when its not needed to dry out the air.
