- SCVJeffExplorerXtend and Climb seem to be the gold standard, but they're also not cheap
- wa8yxmExplorer IIII have one 11 years old.. well almost 12 I am over 300 pounds (it is rated 250) works great.. Wish it was a few feet longer (may some day build an extension) But very happy with it.
- LynnmorExplorer IIBe sure that you have a place where the ladder can rest without damaging the roofing material. Some telescoping ladders can really pinch your fingers, use with caution. I have a TeleSteps and rarely use it because of possible damage.
- MrWizardModeratorThere have been several threads on these ladders
I bought the "Extend A Step" in early 2012
And I like it very much
Mind extends to 12.5 ft - lj2654ExplorerI have one made by cosco......heavy but does everything I need to do with it....

I think that can happen when they are not properly extended. Ours has a specific warning not to extend it by just extending the top rungs first. - lanerdExplorer IIRecently (I can't remember where) I heard there were issues with this type of ladder collasping under load.
Ron - Dick_BExplorerThe roofer estimator that visited our house recently had one in his car and used it to get up on our roof. It extended and folded up nicely. I think that is a good recommendation because he uses it often.
We have a ladder mounted in the rear of our TT and don't carry a separate one. I use a Little Giant at home.
