12.5 Foot Telescoping Ladder

My TT doesn't have a rear ladder, so I have been searching for a high quality but economical alternative. I found the Xtend & Climb 12.5 foot telescoping type 1A commercial grade ladder with a 300 pound weight capacity at Target for $168.99. The retail on this ladder is $299. If you use your Target red card, the shipping is free.

My Chief Financial Officer (DW) is ordering mine today. If you are looking for a great ladder, this is the one.

  • I have had mine for about 15 years and it works great. I absolutely have to keep it clean for it to retract under it's own weight.
  • The ladder I posted is not the less expensive home telescoping ladder. Those tend to weight about 22 pounds and aren't as stiff and strong. The ladder on sale at Target is the type 1A commercial grade ladder that weights 36 pounds and has far better reviews.

You can find 12.5 foot ladders cheaper that may work very well for you, but I searched a long time for the best price on the commercial grade model that I expect to last for decades.

After using my Target red card (just a store loyalty card that is connected to your bank account like a debit card), the price dropped to $160 and I got free shipping.
  • I just looked on Amazon and found this telescoping 12.5' ladder for $89 with free shipping.

I bought mine. I can't find a lower price anywhere.

  • I bought one on Craigs List for $15.00 {never used} . The Ladys husband left her for another younger Lady so she was more or less giving his "stuff" away.
I never even asked her to come down in price. LOL
  • I use the 10.5' version to put my Winegard Carryout G2 on the roof and to get on the roof to clean off the solar panels and do maintenance. Just make sure each segment you use is fully extended to engage the catch before climbing one.

Look for the brands/models with the 300+ pound capacity.
  • Been using one of the "12ft" "Telesteps" brand for about 8 years, great product. Paid $189 on sale at Menards. Had it out yesterday to do some work on our Texas Room, then loaded it up for the trip east in two weeks. Be careful when closing it up, you can get pinched fingers. Want to ask how I know?
