As others said, prep for humidity in East TX. I don't know West TX well. When I lived in Japan, everyone complained about the humidity and I thought it was fine. Most of those complaining came from San Diego. After 5 years in CA, I would suffocate for a couple days until I acclimatized when I traveled home to the Gulf Coast - and I lived in the Central Valley with triple digit temps, probably closer to Las Vegas weather than San Diego.
Some type dehumidifier is helpful depending on how good your A/C's are at removing humidity. If you are closer to Gulf Coast, you will have potential for afternoon thunder storms.
