There are no options to slow the deaths and impact on healthcare except the shutdowns and social distancing. The medical experts will be clear about that. The politicians are not going to risk having the epidemic flare up with tens of thousands of deaths.
Unless, of course, the “things” are in places that have not flared up and have impacted healthcare only because of all of the cancelled routine care.
The medical experts should provide data but should not be the only ones making the decisions.
It also should not be a one size fits all solution.
