- jaycocamprsExplorerOne reason that I haven't seen is that there have been no Gulf of Mexico hurricanes. Production in the gulf has not been interrupted, nor have the refineries and import terminals on the gulf coast been impacted.

What I want to know is why diesel is running almost 80 cents a gallon more than gasoline? It annoys me to see local service stations advertising regular unleaded at $2.99 but still demanding $3.79 a gallon for diesel!
Possibly because winter is coming and many use fuel oil in the north east.
Plus, the trucking industry puts a high demand on diesel.

Some people never let the facts stand in the way. Here are the facts:
Consider that the average price of a regular gallon of gas at U.S. pumps was $1.85 when Bush was sworn in for his second term in January 2005 and $1.84 when Obama took office in January 2009 on the promise of change, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Adjusting for inflation, prices rose to $2.52 (Bush) and $2.53 (Obama) seven months into their terms, $2.76 and $2.71, respectively, nearly two years in and $3.27 each three years in.
As I said before NO POLITICS PLEASE. If you want to get on with some stupid rhetoric go to a political website.
THIS IS AN RV WEBSITE NOT A POLITICAL WEBSITE. I do not bore you with my views so please keep yours to yourself or go to the appropriate place.
I AM WORDING THIS A LITTLE HARSHER BECAUSE maybe you missed my earlier hint - ol_Bombero-JCExplorer

No. Bunch of garbage there. yesterday was election day. Now that it is all over watch prices skyrocket again. Unfortunately oil = politics. My post may be too political and get deleted. I will take my chances.
Both = some percentage of garbage.
Prices of oil will go up - because the US is *exporting* way more than previously - due to increased US production - mostly due in turn to fracking.
Sure Saudis want to stop fracking - but also other countries want to purchase product.
Big Oil = US oil to the highest bidder...;)
"They" pay = *You* pay.
Oil Companies happy - either way!..:C
Enjoy it while it lasts.

election is over Republicans won, prices will skyrocket.
Huh? Perhaps you'd like to blame it all on George Bush? - Rick_JayExplorer IIProbably lots of reasons, but in my observation, when there is "peace" in the Middle-East (aka strong U.S. presence), the prices tend to be high because we're doing all of the "peacekeeping/military expenditures". When there is unrest in the Middle East, those countries start pumping the oil to build up their own military muscles.
Politics, I'm sure, has something to do with it in terms of their policies. For example there are 34 different states which require different blends of gasoline. Source. It's hard to determine how many different blends there really are. But no doubt it would be a lot cheaper if we just had 2 (low octane & high octane). :)
For the poster who said "the price will sky rocket because the Republicans are in power", well...when George W. Bush left office the national average for gasoline was $1.78 per gallon. If that's "sky rocking", bring it on!!!! LOL :)
~Rick - lanerdExplorer III gave up facebook just for that reason. Got to be nothing but politics and religion.
So I agree with darsben. Politics have no place here...let's talk RVs.

Sad when people have to politicize anything. Specially the half empty glass people. Maybe they should get out and volunteer or something.
Leave your political opinions at home I do not want to hear them here. Go to a political forum if you must spout them
