As mentioned above, you may have the opportunity to buy gas without ethanol added. Ethanol in gas will absolutely modify your MPG. Check the tag on the pump when you refuel.
When we fill our gas trucks and our car from the bulk tank on our Colorado ranch, we are able to always fill with pure gas, no ethanol. Also, when we fill at a gas station in Wyoming we select the stations that we know sell pure gas without ethanol.
When we have to buy gas anywhere along the Front Range in Colorado (I-25 corridor) in Colorado there is no station that sells gas without 10 percent ethanol.
Our experience is that 10 percent ethanol always reduces our MPG by 6 to 8 percent, depending on which truck or car engine is involved.
