The RV industry is against tariffs on Chinese Poop.

WE DON"T LIKE IT

Oh the humanity, we can't use those Goodyear made in USA tires because

"Since that time, one company has now begun
to produce an ST tire domestically; however, they do not currently produce a complete
lineup of the various sizes used by the RV industry."

Evidently they can't use them even on their products that take the sizes available for some reason LOL? And what about the wheels?

Read a business journal for the RV industry and you will see just how special they believe they are.
  • ST tires are a niche tire...always have been even when they were all made in the USA.
Their numbers are small compared to P and LT tires so a china tire maker may set up and make several thousand ST tires in a batch. Then go on to their regular monthly scheduled tire mfg business for the rest of the year.
JMO but this is one reason a particular rv trailer mfg may have various odd ball ST tire brands on their trailers even in the same year period.

I doubt Goodyear is set up to supply enough ST tires for the rv industry and all other trailer types in this country.

Well, I've yet to see that spending more money insures better quality.

  • Well you ALL should be against tariffs too......most ALL of them.

Why ? Because it is just another tax on consumers (YOU) because you end up paying it in the end. Even if you don't buy the tariffed goods, their competitors raise their prices too.

AND....all of this figures into inflation too. Do you like seeing prices going UP ?? I sure don't, especially when it is triggered by stupidity like this.

Never mind the political debate about "us" versus "them", whoever "them" might be.....tariffs are just another tax on YOU.
  • Love the claim that the problem on the propane cylinders is time to receive a shipment from a domestic supplier is too long, well duh, when there is more demand for domestically produced units, more facilities will start producing them, and those times will go down. And with these companies all cranking out units as fast as they can, what is the real problem with ordering two weeks farther ahead? Indiana's calandars don't work? You can plan for those issues. You still need the same number of units each month. And with just in time ordering, they will place many of the orders for a cyclical timeframe.

And you would think that the returning manufacturing jobs being higher paying than the burger flippers would be seen as a plus to the industry, thousands more people filling those jobs that can now afford to buy an RV. That should be their goal shouldn't it? Increasing their market.
