The water keeps rising

We're in a CG on a lake in PA. Flooding everywhere. We may have to evac middle of night or tomorrow. We are high, but CG road is low.

Shoreline is already more than 50ft inland just today. Drove around earlier. Please pray for those in the surrounding towns. Some have never been flooded in 38yrs were today. We offered help, but not much
could be done until water drops.

Last few hrs about +20ft of shoreline, but this is a flood control lake, so maybe it's doing a good thing.

Many roads washed out.

I can't upload pics from here. Already boosted, but Android is limited ;-)

No sleep tonight...watching...

  • Why would you have not left a few days ago? Doesn't make any sense.

  • Quick return to landline. Here's one pic. Lots of local towns flooded yesterday East of Pittsburgh, PA. The boat launch is closed. This pic is the parking area. Normal water levels are a bit beyond the farthest trees.

Here is one from FB of Latrobe, PA (not mine, a search hit)

Some local roads were closed, some washed out partially or mostly.

We are parked up high, but entrance road is flooded. Exit road is higher and still open. We are expecting it to crest in the next hour or so, then we'll know if we are staying or leaving.

Either way, we've been ready to bug out quickly. Up checking throughout the night. Don't want to pack wet, but if we have to...

Good news is we aren't really in any danger of "walls" of water coming like some areas.

When we get back from the trip, I'll post some pics of the STORM. Crazy.

I really wish we could send some our extra water out to you guys in the West fighting the fires in the dry.

Oh- The Keystone State Park road was flooded, too. We were checking for alternate locations, just in case, but couldn't get past the hillside camping areas. Once we're back, I'll get those off my phone and post a few, too.

Thanks to all for the prayers and safe wishes! Be safe this weekend!
  • Flooding on one side of the country, burning up on the other.:(
We had to evacuate due to drought caused wildfires back in June. Too the rain can't be spread around where needed.
  • What part of PA, we are due up there Labor Day, for a good part of week?

Hope the flooding stops and all are okay.
