Sure is busy in the Tesla charging station!!! Just like the one in our small town, 8 stations (I think!) and never more than 1 visible at any one time!! Usually none!! What a neat way of saving money!! Maybe why Tesla is in the RED!!

Keep in mind that 90 percent of charging is done at home. Tesla owners are discouraged from doing daily charging at Superchargers which are primarily for road trips. The network was also built for future traffic. Remember, their are about 15,000 more Teslas on the road every month and half way thru next year that number will be closer to 30,000 per month at present growth rates.Although Tesla superchargers are not considered expensive they are more expensive than charging at home.

There is a 6 spot station at a Barnes & Noble book store near me.Every time I have been buy there they are full or four taken.

Just under three hundred thousand on the road and that expected to double in the next year. By the end of 2018 there are 350,000 per year and by end 2019 450,000 per year. The trailer belows weighs 2350 pounds and the Tesla X pulls it from 0-60 in 5,5 seconds. It is rated for 4000 or 5000 pounds depending on configuration.

Have a look at this trolley tour bus that runs off a salvaged Tesla battery. If they can do it imagine ripping out the standard lead acids & genny for a salvaged Prius / Leaf / Tesla battery.

Would be huge fun to park an RV in a Tesla charging lot :C

An RV would actually be a good platform for electric. Not supposed to travel more than 200 mi a day according to most! Then you pull up to power for the night.

The reason Tesla's "in the red" is because of the aggressive building out of this exact sort of infrastructure. The 'carports' are actually solar panel holders. That install is providing Tesla with a steady stream of revenue from electricity it's supplying to the grid. Tesla is playing the long game to crush it's competition.

It's been done. There have been a few that retrofit them into RV's. Of course, you need a voltage regulator to step down the voltage for usable 12V devices.

Yep. But the demand is kinda keeping the price up as welll. Actually hard to come by.
