There are areas in Asia where a bucket is beside the toilet/hole for the tp.
Then again there sometimes is no tp but a bucket of water....No shaking hands with the left hand, remember that.
Also in rural South America.
You'll see cans next to the toilets a lot in public restrooms that are near the Mexican/USA border but still in the USA. Also seen them in Greece in the older parts with poor plumbing.
Then there is the turkish toilet in places like France and others, and how about those nice spray foam dispensers in Holland. Those cultures look at our toilet facility with disgust when it comes to hygiene. I guess they would say "Yuck"
In Great Britain if you want to know where the public bathroom is they'll ask "why are you going to wash up in the toilet."
The biggest issue I see is that a lot of North Americans never leave our borders. Creates some small minded thinking, which then lead to global mistrust.
