Time saved/lost versus using motels

I'm working out my budget for an upcoming trip and looking at both options, and bringing the trailer is ending up being about half the cost. For us it's largely because we can't get just one hotel room, there are too many of us. So bringing one large trailer is much better if we can manage it. Also feeding us all at a restaurant is ridiculously expensive, even the cheapest fast food we can't get away with less than $40 for a meal, and we can only do that so many times on a trip before we need to eat something better. Bringing our kitchen and dining room with us saves us a lot, more than offsetting the increase fuel price.
Now, I am not factoring the cost of the trailer into that of course. Not going to go there:)
