To Bomb or not to Bomb?

My class A is infested with big black ants. I thought I had killed all of them a few weeks ago in the air conditioner on the roof. When I was in the motor home tonight I saw more of the big B*#@^!ds inside the main area. Is it feasible to use a household type bomb or is there a better solution. Any ideas would be certainly welcome.
  • I've heard carpenter ants prefer wet wood. I hope they are not indicating another problem.
  • Don't use the type that makes a mist. It doesn't go deep enough through the camper. Instead, there is a type that gets hot and makes REAL smoke. It is activated with water. Open all the cabinets and close all the vents. Set off these smoke fumigators and they will penetrate.
I place each one on a ceramic plate just to be sure heat doesn't go through the bottom and make a mark where ever I sit it.

  • It may be best to contact a pest control firm. They sound like carpenter ants....if so, you definitely need to get rid of them.
  • You need something that they will take back to their nest and share. Terro works on small ants, I don't know about your little buddies. If they are carpenter ants they may be residing in the walls consuming the wood products.
