toad hook-up

Hey everyone,
My wife and I will be full time rv ers by this fall. can t wait. I do have a question about towing my 2005 toyota corolla, manual shift. The price of tow bars and tow dollies is very expensive.I noticed on a retail site a tow bar for 129.95 new.will this work with my toad?I have always had 5 th wheels so a toad is new to me.What is the least expensive way?
thanks

  • good advice given. I would recommend a tow bar that stays on the back of the motor home and has levers, not slip rings, to release it. I used a blue ox aventa II and a brake buddy.
don't cheap out, it is a one time purchase.
    bumpy
  • That $129 tow bar might do the job, but how are you going to connect it to the toad? Where are you going to store it when not in use? How easy is it going to be to connect it by yourself on a rainy morning?

I have rarely been satisfied when I bought the cheapest version of anything unless it was for emergency or one time use.
  • The least expensive way is to buy the best equipment you can afford. You don't want to go cheap when yours and others safety is concerned. As in most cases you get what you pay for.
