On a lot of RV toilets the bottom of the toilet is open to the tank,there is a splash factor.Take yours off and see. If it does not have a chute things will splash around. I found this out when I changed mine out to one with a chute, straight to the tank with no splash factor.
It was quite a mess under the toilet and smelly too.
