What a tragedy!
This is my first year snow birding in Florida. Back in January I was in a COE park in Southern Georgia. There was a tornado watch for our area. I learned of the watch around midnight from an app I have for my Android phone.
We planned to head for the restrooms with pets if the updated reports became more severe.
At six the 5:30 am a knock came on our door. It was the camp host alerting us (albeit late) of the watch and instructing us to head to the restrooms if the weather got worse.
My question is do most places have someplace safe to shelter in? Is there some common system used in most camp grounds to alert campers or are you left to your own devices?
