Towing 4wd on dolly

My Ford Edge can be towed on a dolly if it was front wheel drive, however the all wheel drive can not. Like mentioned above, the center differential will be torn apart, as only the rear wheels and it's driveshaft will be spinning, while the front driveshafts will be still on the dolly.
Why the wait to get the towing equipment? I was able to pick mine up at my local Camping World about 3 days after placing the order.
Do you have a different front wheel drive vehicle you can take on this trip?
I probably would just take the trip without a toad. It really is not that difficult to break camp and go sightseeing in the RV once in a while.
