Towing Jeep Cherokee - Do I need to pull any fuses etc?

I've almost got all of the towing items installed on my Jeep Cherokee and my motorhome. One thing I was curious about was if I need to remove any fuses for the fuel pump etc on the Jeep when I move the ignition key to unlock the steering wheel before towing? I didn't see anything in any of the instructions.

Thanks

  • Sorry for the lack of information. It's a 1995 Jeep Cherokee, 2wd but with a 5 speed manual transmission. According the manual and a dealer I called it is towable since it's a manual transmission. Thanks. I didn't see anything in my repair manual, but I will check the provided links (thanks) to see if anything else is mentioned.

    Thanks.
  • No fuses to pull. What year? Does it have the little neutral button next to the gear selector? If not ( if manual no need for it) you can't tow 4 down. Need the correct transfer case to tow 4 down. The new cherokee must have the active II transmission.
  • No fuses need to be pulled. But as suggested, read your owners manual for the correct info.

what year? also check your owner's manual in the 'recreational towing' section. if you don't have a paper manual you can find one here.
  • I don't pull any fuses on mine.
I do hope yours is a 4 wheel drive. You can't tow a 2 wheel drive, 4 down.
