trailer tires

A typical 235/85-16 load range E tire would have 3042 pounds of capacity. So just under 6K for the axle.
The G614 GoodYear has 3750 pounds of capacity, so that's 7500 pounds of tire capacity on your 7K axles. Sounds to me the load range G tire is a better choice.
It would be good to know the wheel by wheel weights actually on the ground as well to help making tire choices.

Just like the Sailun S637 LT235/85-16 G load range is a Premium Regional All Position commercial grade tire used on trucks and low platform trailers.
My area Sailun dealer can't keep them in stock. Private operators and fleet service mgrs keep him busy ordering them for their equipment trailers. They should give a RV owners many years of trouble free service on 7k axles.

I have finally gotten more information on the trailer setup. I have 7K # axels, rims are rated for 110psi. and the tire size is ST235-80R-16. I am considering the Goodyear G614 trailer tire. Was wondering what the pros and cons were for going to a 17.5 wheel. What is the availability of each? Cost difference? ect. I have talked to some tire dealers, and they can not work on 17.5 wheels. So that limits you to a more commercial truck,truck stop. If I am understanding this correctly. The suppliers I have talked with recommend going to a 17.5" tire and wheel. Is this just for the additional sale of the wheels also, or is there a more justifiable reason behind it.

Can not tell you CKNSLS how long the junk lasted. I purchased this trailer about three years ago pulled it about 30miles and set it up in a RV park at the lake. Been sitting there since. I am planning a trip later in the year and plan on replacing the tires assuming they are the original tires and dont want to take a chance with them. Going to the lake to fish and have fun the next few days. Plan on looking at the exact size and make of the tire that is on it now.

Much of the information in other posts is not going to help in your application...Carriage is a heavy fifth wheel. The G614 is a high quality G rated ST tire with a 75 mph speed rating and about the only tire that will fit (in a G rated tire). You probably won't find a LT tire to carry the load of a G and still fit.

The Goodyear G614 is NOT an ST tire.......it is an LT tire

The Sailun S637 is also a good choice in 'G' rated 16" tire

Their website is very clear that this is a trailer tire. Now, they do size it as an LT tire, but I think this just means it is a metric tire size.

With a trailer that large LT tires may be the best choice. If you plan to use ST tires I wouldn't use anything but Maxxis E rated tires

Trust me, I had the same thought but even though mine is 5 yrs old and tires even older it has seen very little mileage. Most of it's life was stored in a garage and raised off the floor. Have a big long trip this summer and don't want to test my luck any further.

Think we have the same fiver which have 7K axles and mine has GVWR of 15,000 lbs.
I too am getting ready to replace my tires as they're still OE ST Duro's and 7 yrs old. Guess I've been lucky. I posted same question not long ago here and the Carriage forum and based on the responses plus my own research I've decided to go with GY G614. Any ST tire for these heavyweight fivers are too borderline and often too little or zero reserve for load capacity. I may need to replace wheels as I'm not sure if mine are rated for 110 psi. If I had the extra $$ I'd seriously consider upgrading wheels to 17.5 which then give you more tire selections.
