I put this in the travel trailer section, but then realized it may be better here. Sorry for the duplication. I am having an issue with my ProPride hitch that I'm hoping ya'll can help with. I installed it about 2 years ago and have really enjoyed it. I let a buddy use my trailer last weekend and he said it pulled like a dream on the 50 miles to his destination. He called me on the way back though and said it felt like something was wrong, and it was borderline unsafe. I couldn't troubleshoot over the phone, but he limped it home and we unhooked. I gave everything a cursory review, but didn't see anything blatantly wrong. Fast forward to today when I hooked my truck up to the trailer. I turned my camera on (I can keep it on all the time if I want) and noticed that the trailer is not returning to center when I drive in a straight line; the tongue of the trailer stays to the driver's side of the truck. I'm thinking that something is out of alignment and I'm hoping that y'all can tell me what before I have to spend hours troubleshooting. We are leaving on family vacation on Sunday, so this is most urgent!Thanks!!!

Check the Frame Bracket (holds the rear end of the yoke in place).It sounds as though the bracket might have slipped to one side.Ron

Also take a look at this Propride hitch in action video and compare it to yours and see if yours is doing the same.

That's my video :)

Anyway, the yoke sometimes gets off center so you have to re-center. I think it's by design. Sean once told me that you should have a y 50 ft-lbs torque on those bolts.

This is my 4th year with the ProPride and I had to do it twice. I think it happens when you move backwards in very tight angles. For me it always happened after I parked for the season and I would notice it the next year.

Makes sense and is probably what happened. Hopefully all will be well in the morning and I won't give it a second thought after the first few miles!

Backing at too sharp an angle between TV and TT is a likely cause of the Frame Bracket slippage (yoke doesn't "slip" -- frame bracket slips and allows rear end of yoke to move).

The theoretical maximum articulation is about 83 degrees. If you jackknife the TV/TT into a sharper angle, something is likely to give.
Frame Bracket slippage is one of the possibilities.

The PP installation instructions should specify a correct amount of U-bolt nut torque.

Went out and did some troubleshooting and found the problem pretty easily... you guys nailed it, the bracket that keeps the yoke aligned slipped to one side. Not sure how, but it was obvious. All I had to do was loosen the ubolts and the bracket slid right back into place (it obviously didn't like being out of alignment). I'll know for sure tomorrow when I hit the road, but it looks like everything is all set for now.

You have what is called yoke slip.You need to service the hitch pull it apart and reset the yoke back to center
