they dangerously tailgate.
You sure have this right! I'm always commenting in disbelief to DW of how close they are to not just us but others. I get passed all the time because I only drive 60 and it's surprising how many trucks like to see how close they can come to my front bumper when moving right. The days of the truckers being the respected kings of the road are long gone. Now it seems more like speed, tailgate and throw bottles of urine out the window or go on the ground next to the truck. It doesn't mean all of them but there sure are a lot of them. I'd also say that very few of them actually do the speed limit. Do your own survey and you will see it. Drive the speed limit and you will have them right on your tail and want to clip you when they pass.
As far as the number of rv on the road for trucks to contend with it is extremely low. If I'm doing 60 in a 70 zone too bad. I have adjusted my speed because of the weight and size of load I'm carrying. There is no truck out there that should ever be going over the limit. Zero tolerance because of the SIZE and WEIGHT.
