Years ago, when common sense was common, we used the railroads to do the bulk of the freight hauling, trucks were used for local deliveries. With government interference, we now have the untenable current situation. With the latest technology, railroads could be doing much more and not always be near bankruptcy. Trouble is that we can't see the woods for the trees.
