But..... Big trucks scare the s*** outa me. While I am sure that many truckers try to observe the rules and drive safely, in my observation, there are way too many who speed, tailgate, cut too closely in front, drift lanes while either sleepy or looking at their phones, etc, etc, etc. A speeding truck fully loaded can do a lot of damage in a blink and many truck drivers don't seem to care. And, I don't recall the last time I saw a truck pulled over by a trooper.
My bet is when all is said and done, we will learn that the truck driver was sleepy or distracted and following the vehicle in front of him (in this case a stopped vehicle on the side.)
Anything we can do to reduce the number of trucks on the road will be well-received by me.
