- pnicholsExplorer III don't think I provided a definition or rules in my post that is referenced above. :h

A Ridgeline is a truck and so is a giant Freightliner. They are just different types of trucks. There are also a lot of trucks in between. Different tools for different jobs.
IMHO .... nope.
After following this whole discussion, I guess I better not try to define what a real truck is. All I know is - I know one when I see one.
Nowadays, I see a lot more that aren't and than those that are. ;)
No offense, but it really doesn't matter what your definition is.
Look up "pickup truck" in the dictionary. By definition, a Ridgeline is a pickup truck. A "pickup" is a type of "truck."
You can make up your own language and your own definitions, but don't expect others to abide by your rules instead of adhering to the accepted definitions and rules of the English language. - pnicholsExplorer II

My answer was simple - what do you have that can pull 10,000 lbs?

Now she's running sales at a Ford dealership - and she wants me to come look at a F-450 Tuesday. She remembered. - Carb_CleanerExplorerYou can't lean on the bed rails and drink a beer with your buddies. It's worthless. What were they thinking and who signed off on that design? I'd rather have a station wagon. I've had a thorough demonstration of its engineering feats (a trunk in the bottom of the "bed") and I've tried to objectively appreciate the thing for what it is, but I've failed to understand the Ridgeline. I don't want to wear a tutu, but I guess some people do. Whatever. Different strokes... I hope it serves them well and they get many happy miles.
I'd like to see a genuine truck effort from Honda, even if it looked like Tupperware, a Transformer or a Pokemon character. I might not buy one, but, hey, you never know. - pnicholsExplorer II

No, it's a town in Georgia.
Real truck owners know that, and they know the engine builder with a similar name does not build trucks.

On second thought I guess I do have a Cummins in my life. The V10 in our real truck RV easily carries one around all the time -> my Cummins is nicknamed "Onan". ;) - JarlaxleExplorer II

If any other manufacture made this vehicle and got these sales numbers it would be considered a failure. That Honda is going to take another shot at it either shows guts or not knowing when to fold the cards and leave the table.
Honda has built all sorts of weird vehicles...from the 2-seat Del Sol, to a megabuck, aluminum-structure supercar...with a V6, to a touring bike with styling inspired by an Accord, to a touring bike with six cylinders. - DuctapeExplorer

LIKE I STATED PREVIOUSLY, IN 2014 IT OUTSOLD COMBINED COLORADO/CANYON SALES BY 20%. If GM can't outsell it in the same market using two different name tags, why should Honds drop it. Oh yeah, I forgot, GM does stupid things and you have to do the opposite to make money.
I thought 2014 was the year GM did not have the Colorado/Canyon?? Didn't they discontinue a few years ago and then just come out with new 2015 model? Perhaps I am mistaken.
Google it. Had sales every month.
