LIKE I STATED PREVIOUSLY, IN 2014 IT OUTSOLD COMBINED COLORADO/CANYON SALES BY 20%. If GM can't outsell it in the same market using two different name tags, why should Honds drop it. Oh yeah, I forgot, GM does stupid things and you have to do the opposite to make money.
I thought 2014 was the year GM did not have the Colorado/Canyon?? Didn't they discontinue a few years ago and then just come out with new 2015 model? Perhaps I am mistaken. - CavemanCharlieExplorer IIIIf they did sell quite a few at first it is most likely because of pent up demand because they quit making the ranger and S-10. But, if they did start making them again and they got as bad of mileage as a full size truck it would only be a matter of time until people figured that out and quit buying them. I wish they would make a Ranger again but, it has to get good mileage or what's the point?

Ford sold 70K Rangers it's last year of manufacturing and selection of units was not the best, the RL's best year was around 50k units, which is a little less than the Rangers worst year. Stunning sales............but it's a Honda......
So go buy a Ford Ranger. Sales numbers don't equate to the value of a vehicle to it's customers. A lot of people don't want a vehicle that 70, 000 other people own. Detroit has sold large numbers of cra**y vehicles. Sales volume is no indication of the quailty or value of anything.
EDIT. If you are upset that Ford discontinued the Ranger, take it up with Ford. It isn't Honda's fault, so quit bashing their product. - pnicholsExplorer II

I would think that little Suzuki 4 x4 is a mini SUV, not a Truck
Probably it's most rational to define a truck by what it proves it can do over time, versus how many fancy curves a design department adds to it or a marketing department hypes it. ;) - shum02Explorer

Do you work for Honda?
So how could you possibly know it's not profitable?
:h
Nope I do not and also one of the few brands I have not owned. Knew people at the Aliston plant who built it.
Didn't say it wasn't profitable, said it wasn't a "money maker". The WHOLE idea of getting into pickups is to make a BOATLOAD of money on them. Ford, Dodge and GM make more per unit selling pickups than just about anything else except performance cars. Honda in the last few years couldn't sell enough of these to fill a bathtub. Cost 250 million to develop then they close ops in Aliston and moved it to the US. Think they've been making out like a bandit on it??? NOT.
Now they're going to try again???? Seriously? If it wasn't a Honda it never would have stayed in production this long. Time to let go and move on. - BigdogExplorerThe mileage that some of these little trucks and SUVs get is downright ridiculous. My 2001 PSD Excursion (9200#)with a 4" exhaust and an 80 horse DP tuner got 15 miles to the gallon city/21 Hwy and towing my 9600# trailer got 10.5. My 2011 Jeep Liberty (4200#) gets 12-13 city and 19 hwy and I have no idea what the towing miles are as it doesn't really like to tow anything as it has no power.
