TT VS 5thWheel

I am sure this has been discussed before but going to throw it out there anyway. We have a TT 3 years old ( our first since pop up years ago) Friends just bought 5whl and of course there opinion only way to go. My point of view I dont like layout of 5whls I like our layout, the TT fits in my shed 5whl would be to high (only 12 ft eave on shed), I have topper on truck that i use for storage and dont want to give that up by having hitch in middle of bed, I have a dually which got rid of sway issues from old truck. Are 5whls built better for the long haul or is one no different than the other? I have pulled our Jayco 29QBH to Tn twice, Florida once, and numerous trips around Il. Just retired and we are going to Bristol in Mar and out west in June.
  • You don't care for the 5ver's floor plan and are happy for many reasons with your tt - so why worry about anything else. You're the one that needs to be happy.

TT, or 5ver, have many floor plans, brands, models, options, and price. You have already purchased what you want - enjoy it and don't look back.

None of the trailers are built to stick & brick home quality. In fact, they are of much lower quality.
  • There are advantages to both. There is no wrong answer as everyone places a different value on each of the pros and cons. If you have a TT you like, no reason to worry about a 5er.

I tend to find more medium or high end 5ers than I do TTs. However, there are high end TT also. You can get a great unit in either platform. Just decide what things are most important to you to know which unit is YOUR best option.
  • Basic construction has changed little in the last 40 years. You will fine that most TT and fifth wheels are built exactly the same. 2X2 exterior stud walls, either wood or aluminum. OSB or plywood floors, corrugated aluminum or smooth siding, generally rubber roofs. The big difference is what YOU prefer. All else is conjecture.
