Bought a great product on amazon. A lighted "orange reflective expandable cone"! 48 inchs high! We have discussed using cones in many threads. I am religious about conning, truck and trailer each time we park. This weekend I took my new F450 to get coffee Sunday morning. I left cone in place which was foot and half in front of my truck, three feet within my park space. While I was gone a class "A" going wrong way down road, took out the cone! I mean smashed it. It was broad daylight and he ran it down, never stopped. I returned, administered first aid, but it was too far gone. No services will be held ! I will cone forever!I would rather give drivers a target other than my new F450!

Lots of truck drivers aim for those cones. They try to get close enough to slide them over a couple feet, but often end up running over them. Have seen it happen over and over again.

NASCAR makes you serve a "pass through penalty" if you take out the cone at the entrance to pit road. I reccomend the same for your Class A driver. :R

I was setting up a work zone on a very busy road once and a guy ran over the cone just as I was placing it.

I like the cones!

Me haz two of dem big ones.

One I found in the Home Depot parking lot (says COMCAST on it).
The other one I found on a country road when I was driving for a tow company.

I work for AT&T, and we have to put cones out front and back everywhere we park. Its not for people to see us. Its so we walk around the vehicle and check for any obstructions like kids playing behind you prior to leaving.

Working on the side of the road, using cones is a dangerous situation. I swear people try to hit them on purpose. And, we have had people just run through the entire work area smashing cones as they go and run into the protection vehicle. That's the one we try to park in front of our work area for our protection.

On a highway job a few years ago. Every morning the subcontractor doing curbs and driveways would put out cones and start work early. For about two weeks the same car came through each morning and deliberately ran down the cones. The crew turned a cone upside down and filled it with concrete. Weighed about a hundred and twenty pounds.

Smart ass wanted somebody to pay for the bumper that got ripped off, but all of the witnesses said he must have hit a tree. Nobody could fine the cone.
