I work for AT&T, and we have to put cones out front and back everywhere we park. Its not for people to see us. Its so we walk around the vehicle and check for any obstructions like kids playing behind you prior to leaving.
Working on the side of the road, using cones is a dangerous situation. I swear people try to hit them on purpose. And, we have had people just run through the entire work area smashing cones as they go and run into the protection vehicle. That's the one we try to park in front of our work area for our protection.
