Using a check list

I'm almost 46 and I think its time for me to start using a check list.

This last camping trip to Myrtle Beach, I did two or three stupid things that I have never done in the past. Or was it 5??? I forget...
:o

Most were just minor little things like forgetting to pack a cooler. Which cost me money.

One was potentially bad: I forgot to fold up the hand rail on the door when leaving. Luckily a neighbor camper stopped me before we pulled off.

I downloaded an app for my phone, but I may just make some kind of binder. Any suggestions/experiences are welcome.

  • I'm with the OP. I too need a checklist. My last trip, I made it 20 miles down the road after leaving the campground before I realized I had forgotten to plug the electrical connector from the trailer into the tow vehicle (realized it when I noticed I had no trailer brakes!).

Well at 62, I still don't use a physical check list.
I do a walk around with all others in the TV, undistributed, no out side influences.
If I get in the TV, and have any second thoughts, I get out and check it again!!
  • We use a few wooden clothes pins clipped to the dash. Write on them things to check and remove them when complete. Works for us.

  • About the only thing I always have near me is my phone.

I use the Notes Lite app. It is free from Google Play. It is like having a legal pad in your smartphone. You can make a file for a departure checklist, am arrival checklist, and a breaking camp checklist.
  • Laminate a 5x6 index card with one side being going and the other breaking camp.

keep it low tech. we have a loading checklist (actually 3 of them) that we use at home in preparation for a trip and a departure checklist we use when leaving a campground. we keep the departure checklist in a soft cover binder in the pocket of the driver's seat.
  • If you have an IPad rvchecklist is great. Think it is also available for android.
