Very specific firearm question

When driving through Canada to Alaska, carrying a 12g pump shotgun, I have to fill out the Non Resident Firearm Declaration Form.

What do I put down for line 8. Destination of firearms in Canada a)Town b)Province/Territory?

I have no destination in Canada. I am passing through to Alaska.

I would put NA and explain just passing through.

A friend two summers ago tried to bring in a shotgun (had proper forms), BUT was not passing through... had to ship it home $$$$. If he had said passing through and did not put any CA city down it would have been OK.
  • The form I used several years ago was an application for a firearms permit, which cost $27.
  • I would put the town, and all that for Alaska.

And then at the Canadian border make sure that that is good.
  • Sounds like you have the wrong form. Check with the Canadian border security people.
