VW buggie
For the price of the tow setup for the DFs CRV I can purchase a buggie and not deal with the brakes and such. OK now beat me up!!

If it'll meet your needs go for it. Around the campground, out to the store or beach, I think it'd be great. Day-long sightseeing trips of a few 100 miles not so much.
You'll probably have to fab your own base plate or hire a fabber to build one. PLEASE don't chintz on that. Buggie is still heavy enough to really hurt somebody if it comes un-done in tow.
