I know many truck stops only accept a very few cards at the pump. If you don't have one you have to go in - give your card - return and pump then go in and settle. My wife goes in and gets the card swiped - shops while I pump diesel and pull ahead when done then she pays. Works for us. I have seen signs saying pull ahead when done fueling. Just common decency. Lost on some.
The other side is I was without the trailer at car pumps waiting for a diesel pump when I was confronted by an angry older fellow as to why I was waiting in that particular line (the only diesel pump was also gas island) When I said need diesel he walked away but still quite upset -hard for some to contain rage I guess. Thought he would keel over right there.
