- midnightsadieExplorer IIthose sign guys were on 60 minutes one evening guy told the report he makes 60k to 70k a year begging for money.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIAfter the shootout we don't have the issue of 'Wally Docking'
But there are the same guys set up at each corner with the obligatory pet and HELP sign.
Same guys, same corner....regular 'working hours'
Gotta given them credit for showing up and being on time. - colliehaulerExplorer III

We currently have some of the lowest unemployment numbers in decade's. If a person is willing to work there is a job for them. There will always be a segment of the population unwilling to work and depending on handouts.Cloud Dancer wrote:
Some of us have fallen on hard times. How to help the less fortunate has always been a problem, and now it's worst, that's all. Automation and robotics is part of our evolution, but it also has its downside.
I agree that in some cases jobs have been lost. However, around here I see many businesses posting help wanted signs. We just left Walmart and they have a table with job info just inside the door. $12.50 an hour to start. Not high paying in today's world but something to get an income until something better comes along. That is how it was in the past. When we left Walmart there were the same 2 guys standing on the corner with their "please help" signs that have been around for weeks. :? - RAS43Explorer III

No setting anything up, no slides out, no awnings, etc. Their lot is usually 50% to 75% utilized during regular shopping days. Evenings and overnight maybe 20%.
The WalMart 11 miles away in Wisconsin Dells is absolutely no overnight. The police enforce it without Walmart asking. The local businesses are so tourist oriented that they want to suck every possible dollar out of the tourists. Don't even think about parking an MH or TT on the streets even if you live there. - bukhrnExplorer III

WOW,our local WalMart is just the opposite, Many, Many times I've seen the parking lot nearly full, in fact, I seen people park in the Lowes parking lot next door to walk over to the WalMart.
Maybe the new layout will look something like this one in Amsterdam, NY:
I don't see this happening at our WalMart, as there is no room for all that, unless they do away with All their parking, there is a Lowes immediately on one side, a fast food, and a Ford dealer on the other side and the street in the front.
They can't go too far back as there is a Home Depot on the other side of the trees back there. - westernrvparkowExplorer

Yes, and those greedy RV parks, built exclusively for that purpose, have the unmitigated gall to charge money for the privilege.
With truckers needing to use rest areas and Walmart town centers going up, it's getting tough to find a place to catch a couple of hours of shut-eye. - wildtoadExplorer IISeems like a bid to draw more customers into their stores which they have a right to do, but seems to be a losing proposition. Walmart as an anchor store used to be the draw to bring customers to the adjacent stores, now they want the adjacent stores to bring customers to them? More and more customers even Walmart customers are doing business online, order online - pickup at store, or even order online and have walmart employee bring it to your car in the parking lot. I shop at Walmart a good bit, and am amazed what some will wear out in public.
Walmart should restrict the use of there parking lots for one night, but then they’d have to assign someone to monitor it. - rjsd1ExplorerOur local Walmart has turned into a truck stop. They even drop trailers and leave them. LOCAL tree trimming companies leave their trucks there over night daily. It's becoming a real eyesore.

wal mart camp ,sounds good even pay a small fee.
I would "assume' that this would be unworkable. would require permits, facilities, etc.
haven't seen any junkers at my walmarts, were two at an old mall between the home depot and ollies howeer. one was an old Coronado so it had to be antique.
