Waste valve cable replacement
The crimp on our Valterra kitchen water cable failed. I purchased a new cable.
Our problem is getting the large nut off the failed cable assembly. Our RV has three waste water pulls. There is a compartment door for the pulls. Immediately behind the pull cabinet compartment is the metal frame of the trailer. Holiday Rambler ground out three semi round holes that the cable assemblies goes through.
The problem is the cable nuts are even with the trailer frame. I have used every tool in attempt to grab that nut but everything fails. The ground out hole is not round and is slightly larger than the nut. That is no tool that can grab the nut as the frame is in the way.
We have pushed in from the front compartment handle in attempts to push in the cable assembly to allow room for a tool to grab the nut, but it doesn't push in enough to grab that nut.
A mobile rv repair guy can come Monday but he will charge at least $250 to repair the cable.
Is there any tips on how I can remove that nut from the back of the cable?
We replaced the black water cable a few years back, but that hole through the metal frame is larger than the kitchen valve hole. All they had to do was place two washers to allow the nut to stick past the frame so the nut can be grabbed. Stupid design.
